Multiple positions are immediately available in Dr. Yuhao Xus lab for highly motivated graduate students to pursue studies leading to the Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Clemson University. Full financial aid will be provided to each Ph.D. student for the duration of their studies. These positions can start as early as Fall 2024.

The available research projects include the following:

(a) Droplet combustion experiments of sustainable liquid fuels and relevant diagnostics,

(b) Combustion of liquid fuels at elevated pressures,

(c) Numerical simulations of high-pressure systems,

(d) Life-cycle analysis of greenhouse gas emissions of sustainable fuels, and

(e) Multi-scale study of interfacial phenomena for carbon sequestration.

Students with Bachelor’s or Masters degrees in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science and Engineering, Physics, and other closely related fields are encouraged to apply. Students are encouraged to read our recent publications to determine if their research interests align with ours.

The prospective students are highly encouraged to contact Dr. Yuhao Xu (yuhaox@clemson.edu) to identify a research project that is consistent with their background and interests.
