In the 1970s, the demand for qualified teachers to train the growing number of cadets increased alarmingly. This brought to the start of the Cadet Inspectors’ Unit
The Cadet Inspectors’ Unit was formed with students in the Pre-University classes.
In 1971, NCC (Police) was renamed National Police Cadet Corps (NPCC). The NPCC Band was also formed in the same year
In 1972, Adventure-type camping was first introduced while the “Grey & Khaki” Uniform was changed to present blue uniform worn by the Singapore Police Force (SPF).
In 1979, the NPCC Service Medals were first introduced to recognize officers for their outstanding and sustained years of service to the Corps.
