Development and Deterrence

Are youth as deterred as adults?

The criminal justice system and juvenile justice system both operate under the assumption that we are rational creatures who respond to calculations of costs versus benefits. This area of research, which also has implications for how we parent and teach youth, examines whether youth are actually as deterrable as adults. In collaboration with Lex Williams of the ASU School for the Future of Innovation, we are creating and implementing a decision-making game. More coming soon!
