Theme: Coping Mechanisms
Why coping mechanisms?
After observing multiple HOSA accounts from years prior, we saw that majority of them were focused on specific mental illnesses/grievances that are only applicable to a small percentage of the population. However, coping mechanisms are something anyone struggling with mental health at any level can implement. Coping mechanisms can be almost anything that make you feel better emotionally- big or small.
On a community level, within our own households and schools we see people constantly struggling with their own mental challenges, but when you're not at the level of seeking professional help, what are small things you can do to help yourself?
By focusing on educating people on a topic they can implement on their own lives, we're widening our audience base and ensuring that everyone can be part of the conversation surrounding mental health. We are also focusing on a positive, yet underrated topic that encourages self-care and resilience.
