I've used these 4 times now so far on my little monster. They are very sharp and have worked without problem so far. The nail quick or quik (sp?) guard works well. In short, trust these work great for small to medium sized dogs.

I have 2 Boxers, one has larger, thick and curved nails which tend to bother her when trimming... These are strong clippers and made well and do not flex when "snipping" the nail and because of the heavy duty construction of these clippers, it's great for larger and thicker nails. With the built in depth gauge, she has not flinched once with the strength of these clippers. Great price, great product!!

If youre contemplating it, GET a pair now. We have used a battery operated nail grinder, for years before this amazing product. 4 batteries required to operate and with how long it would take the whole thing would die after 2.5 times of doing his nails. My sweet boy hated how loud it was, and the feeling of it too. With these clippers, he falls asleep while I do his nails. That's a miracle. his nails have never been so prestige, and no more tapping on the floor when he walks. Easy to use, neat little nail file included. The grip is good, and I have little hands. Easy to see where you're cutting. I go a little at a time, I haven't nicked him yet, *knock on wood* I'll keep repurchase this, I'm not sure how long they stay sharp for but they're inexpensive enough you could buy a new set once they begin dulling. When you cut through the nail, the clippers do hit together like scissors would, & make a little noise. But it didn't scare my boy like I thought it might. Really good product. Highly recommend

The previous clippers I had broke, and I needed a replacement pair. These received quite a few good reviews so I decided to give them a try.
My dog is large, and her nails are unusually long, meaning you can hear them tap the floor as my dog walks. She doesn't like her nails trimmed, so unfortunately, they're longer than likely recommended. These clippers are easy to hold, and are sharp so I can easily clip, and move onto the next nail. The guard I imagine is helpful to ensure nails aren't cut too short. I also like the lock feature that keeps them in a gripped/close position for storage. Comes with a compartment for a file. I didn't give all stars because I haven't had them that long, so I don't know how long they'd hold up over time.
