Morgan Le Fay

Aubryelle: Welcome back, listeners! This week the one and only Morgan Le Fay has joined us straight out of King Arthur’s dungeon for a personal interview. As you know, she recently tried to murder her brother and steal his beloved sword. Join us, as we learn the reason for the secret hate between Morgan and her half-brother King Arthur. Now, without further delay, let's welcome Morgan Le Fay!

Morgan: Thank you for having me! I am delighted to be on your show this week.

Aubryelle: We have been dying to have you! First off, how are you? You did just get released from your brother’s dungeon, so how does it feel to be free at last?

Morgan: I feel amazing. And I am great. It has only been a few days since my release, so I have had a lot of catching up to do.

Aubryelle: I am glad! If you do not mind, we are going to ask you some questions.

Morgan: Of course!

Aubryelle: What is the reason behind your hate for your brother?

Morgan: It all goes back to when we were kids. As you know, he is my half-brother. We have the same dad, but different mothers, so we grew up together. I was always the smartest kid and my father loved me the most and this caused Arthur to become jealous of me. He would always be mean to me and pull unimaginable pranks on me when we were kids and this all just built up over the years.

Aubryelle: I am sorry to hear that. Are these events what led up to your attempt to take his life?

Morgan: Honestly, no. I never thought I would try and kill my own brother, but in one of his battles, he took the life of my one true love. I was outraged by his death, and wanted nothing more than revenge for his death. That is when I decided I wanted my brother dead.

Aubryelle: Wow! I had no idea. Did Arthur know you loved this man?

Morgan: Yes! He will do anything to make my life miserable.

Aubryelle: Who is this mysterious knight?

Morgan: It is a secret. Even in his death, I would not want to reveal his identity.

Aubryelle: A mystery! Wow! Well I am sorry to hear about his death and wish you the best in recovering. If you do not mind me asking, do you think that Arthur purposely killed this knight?

Morgan: Absolutely! I know it was a battle, but he also knew I loved this man. My speculation is that he killed him to hurt me.

Aubryelle: Will you go to the cops with this information?

Morgan: No, they will not believe me, and I have no proof, other than my words.

Aubryelle: How did you try to kill Arthur?

Morgan: I had a witch enchant a robe, and then I sent a messenger to give it to him.

Aubryelle: Wow! How did he find out that the robe was enchanted?

Morgan: I guess he just does not trust me! I should have thought about it.

Aubryelle: There are also rumors about you being a witch. What do you say to this?

Morgan: I am not a witch. I am a healer. Again, Arthur started this rumor about me to ruin my reputation. This is also another reason my lover's name will be kept secret. Even though I am not a witch, I would not want to ruin his reputation.

Aubryelle: I am sorry to hear that! Thank you so much for sharing this personal information with us. I wish you the best and hope we get to talk again soon.

Morgan: No problem! Thank you for having me!

Aubryelle: This week we have gained a new sight on the relationship of Morgan Le Fay and King Arthur. Unfortunately, King Arthur refused to comment on this matter, so we only have Morgan’s testimony. I wonder if Morgan will ever reveal the identity of her secret lover? Will Arthur ever decide to comment on Morgan’s accusations? More information will be provided as it becomes available from the source. Thank you for joining us this week. Tune in next week for the latest news from within Camelot!

Author’s Note: For this “podcast,” I decided to use the story about how Morgan Le Fay tried to kill King Arthur. In the original story, Morgan is trying to avenge the death of her lover that Arthur killed in a battle. She goes to the place where he is resting and wants to steal his sword, but knew if he woke up and found her with his sword, he would kill her, so she stole his scabbard instead. He went after her and got it back. When he returned to court and told his people of her treason, they demanded that Morgan be burned for her heinous crime. The next day, Morgan sent Arthur a gift and asked for his forgiveness, but before he would receive the mantle, he demanded that the woman who brought it try it on. When the woman put it on, she burned to ashes, and so King Arthur knew it was enchanted and Morgan had tried to kill him. He was enraged. I once again used an interview and used a character whose perspective was not given in the original one. I decided to make Morgan look innocent because it added an interesting twist to the plot, a kind of he said, she said. This, in my opinion, leaves it up to the listeners to determine the real story. Also, I made Arthur decide not to comment to add an element of making it seem like Arthur was guilty or that the hate between his sister and him was too hurtful to recall. This story makes it seem like Morgan is innocent, but as we know from the real story, she is not. I also thought that adding some background to what fueled the hate between the siblings would just add a little more background to the story. Even after researching, I still have not found the real reason for their hate for one another.
