Program Mission
The Young Haitians in Real Estate (YHRE) Program is a signature initiative of the Haitian Real Estate Professionals Association (HREPA) designed to inspire and equip the next generation of Haitian real estate leaders through education, mentorship, and experiential learning. Aligned with HREPA’s 2025–2029 Strategic Plan, YHRE advances our mission to empower real estate professionals serving the Haitian community.
Program Vision
To build a pipeline of future Haitian real estate professionals and leaders. Through YHRE, we aim to expand access to opportunity, increase culturally competent representation in the real estate industry, and create pathways to homeownership and generational wealth within the Haitian community.
Program Components: What To Expect
1:1 Mentorship
Students are paired with professionals in the real estate industry who provide guidance and career insights.
Weekly Virtual Workshops & Networking
Students attend interactive virtual sessions with real estate professionals, investors, and industry leaders covering real estate careers, homeownership, investing, and development.
Site Visits & Hands-On Experience (Optional)
Students visit real estate developments, brokerages, construction sites, and shadown realtors, loan officers for hands-on learning experience
Graduation Ceremony, Capstone Project & Certificates
The program concludes with a graduation ceremony where students present their Capstone Project, highlighting what they learned and the real estate career path they explored. Participants will receive a certificate of completion recognizing their successful participation in the program. 🎓
Meet the Team
Program Founder & Chair
Tracy Vertus is the Founder and Chair of the Young Haitians in Real Estate (YHRE) Program and President and Co-Founder of the Haitian Real Estate Professionals Association (HREPA). She is a licensed realtor in Florida and the Washington D.C metro area and an international development professional working on the United Nations SDGs. Tracy leads the program’s strategic vision and overall operations, serves as the primary ambassador, and mentors the leadership team while overseeing partnerships, community engagement, and program growth
Program Coordinator
Cyndie Paul is a student in the Honors College at Miami Dade College studying health sciences. She serves as the Program Coordinator for the Young Haitians in Real Estate (YHRE) Program, where she supports with program operations, student engagement, and coordination of program activities.
Program Associate
My Kelida Elustin is a sophomore at Howard University, majoring in International Business. She serves as the Program Associate for the Young Haitians in Real Estate (YHRE) Program, assisting with program operations, research, communications, and special projects.
