These Terms of Use govern your use of Yossha: Learn Japanese Daily.
By downloading, accessing, or using Yossha, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree with these Terms, do not use Yossha.
Section 1 About Yossha
Yossha is an educational application designed to help users learn practical Japanese. Features may include vocabulary learning, review, Daily Sentence, Reading, Japanese pronunciation, widgets, notifications, and related learning tools. Yossha may change or improve over time.
Section 2 Educational purpose
Yossha provides language-learning content for educational purposes. Japanese meaning, pronunciation, register, translation, usage, and social context can vary depending on the situation. Yossha aims to provide useful learning guidance, but no language-learning application can represent every possible context or interpretation. You are responsible for deciding how to use Japanese expressions in real-world situations.
Section 3 License to use Yossha
Subject to these Terms, you are granted a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use Yossha for your own lawful, non-commercial purposes. This permission does not transfer ownership of Yossha or its original content to you.
Section 4 Acceptable use
You agree not to: use Yossha for unlawful purposes; interfere with or disrupt Yossha or related services; attempt to bypass security or access controls; redistribute proprietary Yossha content without permission; copy or commercially exploit Yossha software, original design, or original learning materials except where permitted by law; or misuse subscription or purchase systems. Nothing in these Terms limits rights that cannot legally be restricted.
Section 5 Intellectual property
Yossha's original software, interface design, branding, visual assets, written learning materials, and other original content are protected by applicable intellectual-property laws. "Yossha" and associated branding belong to the Yossha project and its owner. Yossha does not claim ownership over the Japanese language, ordinary Japanese vocabulary, grammar concepts, or other public-domain linguistic facts.
Section 6 Yossha Pro and subscriptions
Yossha may offer optional paid access through Yossha Pro. When a subscription is purchased through the Apple App Store: payment is processed by Apple, pricing is shown by Apple before purchase, available billing periods may vary, subscriptions may renew automatically according to the terms shown by Apple, and subscription management and cancellation are handled through your Apple Account. Yossha does not hardcode or guarantee a particular subscription price because pricing can vary by region and App Store configuration. If a free trial is offered, the specific trial duration and conditions shown by Apple at the time of purchase apply.
Section 7 Restoring purchases
If you previously purchased eligible Yossha Pro access using the same Apple Account, you may be able to restore that purchase using Restore Purchases inside Yossha. Restoration may require an internet connection and successful verification through Apple and related purchase systems.
Section 8 Cancellations
You can manage or cancel an Apple subscription through your Apple Account subscription settings. Removing Yossha from your device does not automatically cancel an active subscription.
Section 9 Refunds
Purchases made through the Apple App Store are subject to Apple's purchase and refund policies. Yossha does not control Apple's refund decisions. If you want to request a refund for an App Store transaction, you may need to contact Apple or use Apple's refund-request process.
Section 10 Availability
We aim to keep Yossha available and useful, but we do not guarantee that every feature will always be available without interruption. Features may be added, changed, removed, or improved as Yossha develops. System-level features such as widgets, notifications, purchases, and text-to-speech may also depend on Apple, iOS, device settings, or third-party infrastructure.
Section 11 Offline functionality
Yossha is designed so that core learning functionality can operate locally on your device. Some features may require an internet connection, including purchase verification or future online services.
Section 12 Third-party services
Yossha relies on Apple services for parts of the iOS experience, including App Store transactions and operating-system functionality. Yossha also uses a service provider to support subscription entitlement. Use of third-party services may also be subject to those providers' terms and privacy policies.
Section 13 Accounts and sync
Yossha may offer optional account-related features in the future. The current version does not provide cloud synchronization or backup, so you should not assume your local learning data is automatically backed up or synchronized between devices.
Section 14 No guarantee of learning results
Language learning depends on many factors, including practice, consistency, prior knowledge, and individual learning style. Yossha does not guarantee a particular level of fluency, test result, or learning outcome.
Section 15 Disclaimer
Yossha is provided on an "as available" basis to the extent permitted by applicable law. We aim to provide accurate and useful learning content, but we cannot guarantee that every translation, usage explanation, pronunciation rendering, or learning recommendation will be perfect for every context. Nothing in these Terms removes any consumer rights that cannot legally be excluded.
Section 16 Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Yossha and its owner will not be responsible for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential losses arising from use of the app. Where liability cannot legally be excluded or limited, these Terms do not attempt to remove those rights.
Section 17 Termination
You may stop using Yossha at any time. We may restrict access to Yossha or particular services where reasonably necessary because of misuse, unlawful activity, security issues, or discontinuation of the service.
Section 18 Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms as Yossha changes. When material changes are made, the effective date at the top of this page will be updated. Continued use of Yossha after updated Terms become effective may be subject to the revised Terms, as permitted by applicable law.
Section 19 Applicable law
These Terms are subject to applicable law and mandatory consumer-protection rights. Nothing in these Terms limits legal rights that cannot be waived under the laws that apply to you.
