Player and Parent Commitment
First Year – Outbound Program
Yonsei activities in the first year include once a month (on average) practices, player and parent meetings, community service projects, cultural events, Travel Orientation, Yonsei Golf Tournament and Yonsei Exhibition Game.
Parents and players must attend all practices, activities, and meetings with the exception of conflicts with middle/high school events or family emergencies. Due to the limited time for the players to practice and for the parents to prepare for Japan, attendance is MANDATORY.
Second Year – Inbound Program
Every family is expected to help with tryouts and interviews, mentor first year families, attend planning meetings, participate in the Exhibition Game (July) and host players during the Inbound week (August). The Inbound week is approximately 6 days when the Japanese team and their families come to Los Angeles. Each Yonsei family may host a player from Japan. Participation in all Yonsei team activities that support the Inbound Program is MANDATORY.
Financial Commitment
In the first year, players and parents will be responsible for fundraising the full amount of the player’s trip expense estimated to be $3,500. Fund raising opportunities include selling raffle tickets, Yonsei T-shirts, Golf Tournament Tee Sponsors, Shoot-a-Thon, and other Board approved fundraising activities suggested by the team. Travel expenses to Japan for other family members are the responsibility of the family.
In the second year, fundraising events to support Inbound activities will be identified by the team and approved by the Board.
