Professional Bio

Yolande N. Hylton is a Lecturer in the Behavioural Sciences Unit of the Mona School of Business and Management at the University of the West Indies, Mona Campus, where she teaches Human Resource Management and related business courses at both undergraduate and graduate levels. She developed the first People Analytics course offered by the Mona School of Business and Management, reflecting her interest in evidence-based management, data-driven decision-making, and the future of work. Her teaching focuses on bridging theory and practice through applied, evidence-based learning.

Before transitioning to full-time academia, Yolande built a distinguished career at the Bank of Nova Scotia Jamaica, rising from Teller to Senior Manager of Metrics and Measurement, gaining firsthand understanding of how organisations work, how data drives decisions, and the capabilities HR professionals need to add value. In addition to her academic work, she remains engaged in industry through management and HR consultancy, which continues to inform her teaching and research.

Yolande is a DBA Candidate at MSBM, conducting doctoral research in Talent Management. Her work has been recognised through the Beryl Allen Teaching Award for Innovative Teaching and the UWI Distinguished Teaching Award, a peer-reviewed publication in the Human Resource Management Journal, and presentations at local and international conferences.
