My yoga journey started a few years ago with classes at my local gym, where I was instantly drawn to the sense of calm and balance the practice brought into my life. Later, I discovered Ashtanga Yoga at a nearby studio, where the warm and inclusive guidance of the teachers deeply inspired me—and I’ve been learning and practicing ever since.
My path eventually led me to complete a 200-hour teacher training in both Vinyasa and Hatha Yoga. I’m particularly drawn to the creative and dynamic flow of Vinyasa, and how it can be adapted to meet the unique energy needs of each class. Whether you're seeking an energising practice or something more grounding, I aim to create space for this and meet my class where they are.
Yoga has brought transformative benefits to my body, mind, and spirit. It’s helped me let go of tension, gain strength, and completely eliminate the back pain I used to experience from long hours sitting at a desk. More than just the physical gains, yoga nurtures a deep sense of calm and clarity, providing a much-needed sanctuary from the busyness of daily life.
As it says in Patanjali’s Yoga Sutra 1.2: yogas chitta vritti nirodha. This is translated by some people as, “yoga is the stilling or controlling of the fluctuations of the mind.” My hope is to offer students a space where they can connect to the present moment, find stillness and reconnect with themselves.
With a background in secondary school teaching, I deeply understand that each practitioner arrives on the mat with their own unique experiences and abilities. It’s my joy to welcome individuals of all ages, backgrounds, and levels to practice together in an environment of respect and compassion.
I look forward to holding space for you on the mat and I hope our paths cross soon.
