We wanted the sample to be movable by Lego motors, that are connected to RaspberryPi by Build Hat. We took a model of a Lego gear and made a hole in the middle. This way we could attach it to our microscope. As a first test, we 3D printed the original gear to try, if it can function with Lego.
In this picture you can see how we attached the 3D printed gears to the microscope. There are 2 gears, one moves the sample vertically and the other horizontally.
Our main goal was for the microscope to scan the sample consistently, thats why we added two forcesensors. When the microscope is arranging itself to scan the sample, it moves the motors until it senses force from the forcesensor. The forcesensors are also connected to the Build Hat.
