We did, sadly, not have samples of crabs infected hemolymph. But, luckily, we had a set of samples at home, so we looked at each of them through a microscope and chose, which one is the closes to the samples, that Michael had sent pictures of to us.

First, the program was only finding pixels in the exact shade of red. This prototype was running on a computer first and was using OpecCV library in Python.

Then, we tried to find circle shaped objects in the picture. Of course the program has tolerance.

At the end we combined the programs - the parasite has to be circle shaped and has to be in an exact shade of red. This program could also run on a RaspberryPi, which we use to controll this prototype.
