Phase 2:
The second project, which was the product documentation, another major assignment, left me with a deep understanding of how communication could be a major issue if not done right. During this phase, we created a user manual, where we were able to guide the audience in order to use the product. It was a very challenging project because guiding someone to set a product is not easy.

Audience Analysis:
The Sangabery S-0916 Digital Caliper is a tool used to measure more than one dimension on an object. You could use it to determine the inside diameter of an object, or the outside diameter. You could also use it to determine the depth of the object. It is very accurate and can be used by professionals and amateurs. But, it is often used in industrial and scientific application. For amateurs, even if you do not have any idea of using scientific tools, do not worry. It is very easy to use, because it does not require any mathematical calculations or equations. Also the digital screen makes the reading very easy, that way you will not have to go over the ruler except for confirmation of the value display. For scientists, this tool makes their measurements very accurate and saves them a lot of time due to the digital display during their research. One down side about this product is the battery life. You usually have to change the battery frequently in order to use it, which could be a little confusing for amateurs due to the way it has to be placed. Other than that, it is a good tool overall. The digital caliper is very affordable, and could be found online or from the hardware store. You could get it from amazon as low as $6.39 and the quality is excellent and could last for a long time.

User Manual Electronic Digital Caliper:
This is a tool used to measure inside and outside diameter of an object and its depth.
In order to perform measurements please follow these steps.
Turn it On and Off:
In order to turn it on, slide the rail and it will turn on; or just press the red on/off button.
Turn it off, press the red on/off button, or it will automatically turn off after 5minutes of not being use.
Setting up the Unit:
After turning it on, set up your desired Unit for your measurements. By pressing the blu button on the top you will be able to set the unit in either millimeter(mm) or inches(inch). look over the top right corner of the large LCD Screen to confirm your unit.
Outer Diameter Measurements:
Before performing any measurements, make sure the screen displays zero (0.0), if not press the yellow button to set it to zero.
In order to determine the outer diameter of an object, use the bttom caliper jaw. Open widely the jaw, and place the object in between them. Close the jaw slowly until both side of the object touch the jaw.
Now read over the screen and record your measurements. For accuracy, you can also look over the ruler to make sure the recording number match.
Inner Diameter:
In order to determine the inside diameter, use the top jaw. Unlike the outer diameter procedure, we place the object in between the jaw before opening it. After placing the object in between the jaw, slowly open the jaw until both side touch the object.
Now read over the screen and record your measurements. For accuracy, you can also look over the ruler to make sure the recording number match.
Depth Measurement:
In order to determine the depth of an object, place the object on a flat surface in a way where the object is perpendicular to the surface. Place the bottom of the caliper on the top of the object, now open slowly the bottom jaw until the prob hit the surface.
Now read over the screen and record your measurements. For accuracy, you can also look over the ruler to make sure the recording number match.
Reflection:
Going through this project, I have learned how to perfectly make a user manual. Since it was my first realizing a user manual, it was not easy at first. A user manual has to be written clearly and labeled in a way where whoever goes over the instruction should be able to set up the object. Thus, I have to go over a lot of user manuals and test it to see how perfectly they fit the instructions. Now, I have an idea on how to make one. After spending days after days to make a user manual that would perfectly guide whoever read the instructions. Now, it is time to test my work by my classmates during the science fair. At first, they appreciated how details the instructions were and easy to follow. However, the feedback I was getting was the fact the images were placed at the next page instead of the same page of the instructions, which was confusing. Because just reading over the instructions was not enough in order to set up the object. Once at home, I fixed the format and handed it to my sibling in order to test it with the new format. Thank God, it was very easy to set it up after the fix. I feel like this project was very interesting and prepare the engineers on how to perfectly make a user manual. Because if the instructions are not well labeled, no matter how extraordinary what you create are, it becomes useless and can contribute to poor marketing.
Overall, it was a good experience, just the hardest part was finding something to work on and rich in terms of realizing. It would be easier if the professor proposed some interesting product that way, it would be fun and rich in terms of learning.
