Phase 1: Under the supervision of an involved teacher, Grade 10 learners will gather once a week for 2-3 hours to work through the coursework provided for that week. The learners will work in teams of 5 to use the given information to generate an innovative business idea and business plan. At the end of week 7, the business plans will be internally marked where after each school will select one team to move on to Phase 2 and represent their school at the Pitching Day.
Phase 2: The finalist teams will be mentored for 2 weeks by a group of international student mentors to prepare them for the Pitching Day. All contact sessions will take place online. The student mentors will help the learners refine their idea as well as to create a coordinated presentation for the final competition.
Pitching Day: YEP:BOOST will end with an online competition at which the finalist teams present their business plans online to a panel of experienced judges.
