I interned here as part of SP's internship module but despite that, I learned a lot of things about the industry and game design.
But before I continue, The Carrot Studio is an indie game dev studio who makes cozy, chill games like Tsuki Adventure, which also just so happened to be their breakout success game!
When I interned here, the event I was working on at that time was the Return to Mushroom Village event, where the characters returned to the original village that they started back in the 1st game.
I handled all the dialogue writing for the characters and that taught me a lot about how to take existing characters and write new and interesting dialogue for the game.
Then I was tasked to plan a new Pride event for the game. I had full control over the game from the characters, to the story, to the items and mechanics of the new event. The only thing I didn't do was the art. This event REALLY tested what I have learned in school and was the best lesson I've ever had.
After the Pride event, as the last thing I did, I started to work on a new (now released) area called "Kongo". I didn't do much beyond layout the map and place the characters and write some dialogue but it was fun.

Kongo (when I was working on it as of Aug 2024)
This was a project I was assigned to while I was also working on Tsuki Adventure 2 and this is a spin off title where Tsuki manages a teahouse!
For my role in this, I was tasked with,
Setting up levels in the game
Customer + Staff pathfinding
Placing tables, cooking stations and counters
Setting up level using the given art assets
Coding in features required of the game
Where I basically setup most of the starting worlds (most worlds I worked on being from Mushroom Village to Ola.
A sneak pic on what I worked on (it would've been too many so you only get 2)
Some short gameplay showcase
The fishing minigame I coded and implemented (art not done by me)
