The objective was to design a practical car seat featuring both reclining and sliding mechanisms. The project was executed using Siemens NX, ensuring the creation of a true-to-life model.
Reclining Mechanism
Designed a traditional worm gear and worm wheel system to achieve a 90deg-120deg reclining motion based on SAE standards
Sliding Mechanism
Designed a lift/drop latch secure seat locking, incorporated a sliding mechanism using a rack, both commonly found in modern cars
Car Seat
Car seat was designed using B-Splines and complex curvature to mimic the design of modern luxury cars. Headrest, Backrest, and Lower Seat were designed as three seperate parts, as found in modern carsÂ
