What is yarn bombing?
“Yarn bombing” (a.k.a. yarn graffiti, knitfitti) is street art that covers everyday objects with yarn. The pieces can be knitted, crocheted, or woven. The artist typically measures the object, creates the yarn cover at home, and then sews it on. See examples by Chicago’s South Loop yarn bomber! For this project, we’ve done the measuring for you!

EVERYONE is welcome!
We truly want this to be a community effort. All ages and skill levels are welcome to participate. We are also not limiting the colors or designs that you can use; however, your contribution should reference the theme of Connection.
The sign-up form is here; be sure to note if you need some help learning or would like a free supply kit sponsored by Friends of the Bloomingdale Trail. You can sign up for a panel or bike rack as an individual or group. Those who sign up will have first priority.
Participants will bring their pieces and install on Saturday, July 16, 2022 - don’t worry, we’ll be there to help! Because this is a heavily used public park, we may schedule bike rack and panel installation.
We are committed to protecting the health of our communities. At our in-person events, everyone will be expected observe any applicable COVID-19 safety precautions.
Our theme is Connection. The theme is meant to provide you with creative inspiration and also to reference our connection with each other through crafting and use of the Bloomingdale Trail.
