1. What did you learn?
I learned how to do pixel art and it is pretty fun and easy.
2. What was the hardest part / most challenging aspect of this assignment?
The hardest part was probably doing the hair for my portrait.
3. What did you like the most about this project?
I liked doing the background because it was pretty cool but also tiring. I like to do extra sometimes.
4. How would you improve this project if you were to do it again?
I would improve on the face and the hair because I kind of struggled with that.
I enjoyed making the lettuce, cheese, patty and everything else of the burger. I also liked doing the fries.
The most challenging part was merging the layers together because when you try merging 2 it puts another layer to merge those together.
I learned how to merge layers, make shapes and changing the colors of the burger. I also learned how to add shadows. It was a fun project.
My cat Felix.
Pim from Smiling Friends. :)
I kept the style in my artwork consistent by the elements I used which were Line, Color, and Value.
I created these emojis because I love the cute little cartoon with the character called 'Gloomy Bear', and I've been really into the cartoon.
Out of the 3, my favorite emoji is the bunny which the bunny's name is All Purpose Bunny, but because I added more details and I did her body too and she has really fun colors.
These emojis might be misinterpreted by someone else because in the cartoon the bear is always beating up the boy in the show so my stickers won't look like the original characters. I made them kind of like zombies because its October. 😋
The color harmony that I picked was analogous for all three patterns. (monochromatic, warm color scheme, cool color scheme, analogous, complementary...)
2. Do you think these colors work well together? Why or why not?
I think the colors work well because there are certain colors that go with brown. I wanted to use the color brown so I chose to used a light pink color and a cream color too.
I think the patterns work well because like I said in the last question, brown works well with certain light colors, like pink and a cream color. But I used the brown pattern as the ribbon. It looked good with the light green skirt to me.
What I learned after completing this project was to try harder to make better patterns and also how to do other things in photoshop.
What I found the most challenging about this project was putting the patterns on the template but then I got the hang of it and it was pretty easy.
What does your tattoo represent?
My tattoo represents my cat who recently passed away and who I miss very much.😢
How is this tattoo symbolic to you?
This tattoo is symbolic to me because my cat was my bestfriend and he was everything to me.
What was the most challenging part of this assignment?
I didn't really find anything challenging in this assignment.
The location I picked was Mexico. I picked Mexico because everything there is beautiful. I've never been there but my parents and my grandma say that it is. Also because my family is from Mexico.
I would send my postcard to my mom and dad because if I'm able to travel I would want them to know where I am and my experience.
I like my design but I think I could've played with the tools to see which tool can help me make my postcard look a bit better.
1. Animation is challenging. What did you find the most challenging part of this assignment?
The challenging part was making it look smooth. Also having to organize the layers.
2. Are you happy with your results? Did you push yourself to create something awesome? How did you demonstrate that you tried your best? If you didn't try your best, why not?
At first I was going to make a bear walking into the frame but I was pushing myself for the bear to look perfect. It would've taken me longer because I'd have to draw the bear in each layer and I wasn't ready to keep that up. It was hard for me so I decided to try and make something simpler but with the same amount of hard work. At the end, I do like how the results turned out.
3. What part of your GIF are you the most proud of? Be descriptive.
I can say the part I'm proud of is when the firework is shooting up in the air. I had to keep redoing that part because I wanted it to look at least smooth.
4. Did you enjoy this assignment? Why or why not? Please explain.
I did enjoy this assignment because it now taught how to make gifs using photoshop. I would want to continue making them. It was a fun assignment.
5. If you had the chance to redo this assignment, what part of it would you change?
I would probably change the gif I made and put more thought into it and make something better or bigger, maybe both.
I decided to combine a black cat, and a raven because I love cats and ravens are my favorite too.
I will call my new creation caven. Cat + Raven = Caven.
I believe that my creature will survive in the real world because cats are excellent hunters and ravens are great and fast fliers.
Photo-manipulation is an important topic today because it can lead to serious issues and can cause major problems for the people that have no idea what is going on, especially if it is about that person.
1. Reflect on your experience using the pen tool in Illustrator to create your landmark poster. What challenges did you encounter, and how did you overcome them?
At first using the pen tool was a little hard but after the practice I got used to it and it isn't hard using it.
2. Consider the significance of the iconic landmarks you chose to include in your poster. How did you ensure that your representation accurately captured the essence and recognizability of each landmark?
I picked a village that would catch anyone's attention because the village is filled with paintings and very colorful buildings. It is located in Korea and its a common place for tourists. A very known statue in the landmark I chose should be noticeable to the people who've visited the place or want to visit it.
3. Describe the creative decisions you made regarding composition, color choice, and typography in your poster design. How did these choices enhance the overall visual impact and convey the intended message or theme?
I tried to make sure that the font I used looked serious because in Korea they are a little strict about certain things. I used bright colors to match the landmark I was doing because the village is very colorful. I also moved some sections from the sky of my poster and stretched it out to cover the blank spots in the sky. I don't know if it made my poster look better but I like how it turned out.
4. Reflect on the process of translating a physical landmark into a digital artwork. What aspects of the landmark's architecture or cultural significance did you prioritize in your design, and how did you incorporate these elements effectively?
The main thing that is important in my poster is the statue, its very known in it's place so I wanted my landmark to have the statue in it. Many tourists and other people stop by and take pictures with the statue whenever they encounter it. I was kind of confused about turning a real place into a digital picture but I asked for help and it kind of made me understand it better.
5. Consider the role of digital art in contemporary communication and expression. How does your poster contribute to the ongoing dialogue surrounding these iconic landmarks, and what message or narrative does it convey to viewers?
I think people would take their time looking at it to see the little details. It would probably make them want to visit the place, maybe, maybe not. I don't know if it fits with the art shown today because there are much more creative, talented and cool digital art that took way ore work.
1. What type of planet did you decide to create? Would you inhabit this planet? Tell us a little bit about it.
I created a planet of dragons because my favorite movie is how to train your dragon. I wanted it to be about something I like and enjoy. I would inhabit my planet. It'd be fun riding a dragon in space. The dragons would also have way more space to fly around. They can go back down to earth and then right back up to my planet.
2. Why did you decide to create this planet? What makes it personal and unique to you?
I decided to create this planet because of the new live action of httyd. It has been my personal favorite movie since I was younger. I also wanted to express one of my interest.
3. Please explain what you found the most challenging out of this project. What could you have done to improve this? (Really think about this question, what resources or tools are at your disposal that you could of used/ SHOULD be using when you are stuck and don't know how to do something?)
I had forgot how to remove the backgrounds of pictures until I asked for help and got the hang of it. To improve it I would probably add more things so it wont look empty or look like if something is missing. Sometimes it can be hard to use the lasso tool and the magnetic tool because it wont grab onto a part of the picture.
The techniques I used where line, and color. Four sides of the box has line and each sides are colored. One side of the box is red with a Japanese word that means 'Neko,' it translates to 'cat' in English.
