3D Artist
For this week, the overall goal was role integration and how we could have everyone who had been newly added onto the team properly merged into their desired roles. The art team mainly worked on establishing future art tasks, considering new ideas for expandability as well as what could potentially be upgraded. There was little to consider for creation for the specific stations due to functionality considers, and overall game loop reworks. This led to the art team discussing how we could still be productive despite these drawbacks. This led to us focusing on our outdoor environment, and making it feel more like a waffle house scene. I created the concept for the parking lot that is seen from the windows, and started brainstorming for needed assets. I also helped brainstorm a little bit for our characters, and potential needed assets for other stations that were going to be developed.
For this week, The art team worked further on the parking lot as we awaited further development for the stations. In doing so, my tasks were to create the modular curb / sidewalk assets used for the outside scene. I made sure to have them be interchangeable upon placement from our tech artist, and also to be lined up fluidly along side other assets. Aside from this, we also discussed other things we could add to the seen, but will hold off for later implementation in the latter weeks. We also hope to switch gears and begin making indoor assets too, starting by making the environment more alive.
For this week, the art team began modeling assets for the stations, but most ideas were nixed or put off for later development. A lot of this week was concepting ideas for stations functionality, and how we could develop more user agency into our inputs, as well as how that works with playing along to a rhythm. The only thing that was left for me following the decisions was to model our star pancake for the pancake station, as well as UV our outdoor sign for the parking lot. Otherwise, a lot of the focus on this week was establishing the functionality of things, and an overall game loop.
For this week, our studio team finalized ideas for our stations functionality, and the art team began developing assets accordingly. In doing so, I took care of modeling some prep station assets and pancake station assets. These would be the wad of butter and tongs for the prep station, and the pancake spatula for the pancake station, as well as starting a mickey pancake model and toppings shaker model. We as a team just wanted to begin pushing for a playable version of the stations this week, and did so hoping to better showcase their functionalities and how to improve upon the ideas.
For this week, a lot of focusing was into developing ideas for music incorporation, and how we can further implement these new systems into our stations' functionality. We spoke through ideas of how certain stations should function again in accordance with this, and also discussed implementing a new abstract station class that every station can then pull from for further coding reusability. On the side of this, the art team still had tasks for station assets we wanted to work on and continued in doing so. My tasks for the week included finishing the model for the shaker, and the mickey model. We hope to continue finishing the assets for the pancake / waffle station, dish, and prep station soon, so that we could at the very least have a basis for our games stations, and a playable version for playtest. Will Also made a crazy good song that I thought I would make mention of for playtesting and now future game purposes!! :)
For this week, we began concepting ideas for our prep station, and started looking into how we wanted to develop the station. My main goals for this week were to learn how to create particle effects for our desired syrup and whipped cream effects, as well as modeling a butter pile for our prep station. Next week, I hope to look more into the particle systems and better develop something useable for the game.
For this week, a lot of focus was put on creating new theme Assets, as well as beginning UI creation. My main goal this week was creating a custom font to be used for our game's hit streak system, hopefully provided good user-feedback to their inputs. For next week, we hope to continue concepting more theme assets, create UI elements, and implement some new particle systems.
For this week, there was a lot of cleanup to be done so we could better develop new functionality. For this week, I mainly handled prefabbing all of our scenes imported assets, as well as having to reimport some to remove unnecessary geometry in scene. This was mainly done for the future integration of asset swapping for our shop menu, which will play as a factor for replay-ability for the user. Alongside this, I also created UI art for our mouse cursor to be used in game. Going forward we hope to create more UI elements, particles, and assets for our theme.
For this week, we handled getting a lot more UI elements done for the game, as well as finishing off development for our final themes. My main tasks for this week were to integrate the custom font I made into unity, along with other UI art assets for stations. In addition, I also set dressed the Sea theme, as well as importing all the new assets into our scene for prefab swapping. For the new weeks, I hope to be able to finish off the particle systems I am working on and pushing them to be implemented into the game.
For this week, we began crunching to get whatever remaining things we could for the game. I mainly worked on importing any remaining game assets we wanted to be in game, as well as troubleshooting wherever needed aswell. I also was able to finish off the syrup and whip cream particles to be integrated into the game. For the final build, I hope to be as flexible as possible, and help out where needed.
For this week, the main focus was finishing of any remaining development, and finishing off our documentation for the game. My tasks this week were working on some final prefab adjustments, modeling two more customer hats, and adding asset details to our GDD. I also helped on other minor things, and lended a helping hand wherever needed. We really pulled through in getting in any last minute development, and I couldn't be more proud of this team with how far we came in such little time! Such a fun and great team to be apart of, and was truly a memorable experience I will take with me for the rest of my life!! :)
