One of my best-known projects explored soil moisture mapping processes and improving existing methods for studying drought. This topic resulted in 2 peer-reviewed papers. The first paper, “Standardized Soil Moisture Index for Agricultural Drought Monitoring in the Southeast United States Based on SMAP Observations and 36 Years of NLDAS Data,” was published in Remote Sensing in 2018 and has received 35 citations, making it one of the top 10% most-cited papers in the field of Geosciences during that year. Furthermore, Remote Sensing has an impact factor of 4.509 and is ranked #3 in Remote Sensing by Google Scholar.

Rcently, my research here at University of Tennessee Knoxville has yielded one new publication “Sustainability Trait Modeling of Field-Grown Switchgrass (Panicum virgatum) Using UAV-Based Imagery”.

Based on my research outcomes, I have authored and co-authored 20 publications in high impact journals, e.g., IEEE Transactions on Geoscience and Remote Sensing.
