Hi! My name is Yaoying Fu. I am a fifth-year math PhD student at Boston College, fortunate to be advised by Qile Chen and Kathryn Lindsey. I obtained my BSc in math from The University of Hong Kong.

I am interested in the intersection of mathematical foundation of machine learning and algebraic geometry. In particular, I am thinking about problems like exact function realization, architectural expressivity and structural constraints for ReLU neural networks using toric geometry.
