Anemoia

Two perfume bottles/ 04-08-2024/ Variable dimensions.

Work created in collaboration with Clara Massó. We are interested in the concept of anemoia and its link to the migratory processes so characteristic of Cuba. Through online surveys conducted with Cuban migrants, we discerned a series of recurring scents, finally opting for the two scents that most evoked nostalgia for Cuba: coffee and the smell of the sea. With this, we began working with a perfume manufacturer who created two aromas for us inspired by coffee and the sea. Both perfumes are bottled in two original and unique flasks found in an antique shop. The work is exhibited with the perfume and an audio recording of the experiences of those surveyed.
