Hello! My name is Olivia!! I am on my second year of the JET Programme and my first year on AJET. I currently serve as President. I joined AJET with the goals of creating new connections between community and culture, and advocating for the really rural/inaka JETs out there. My favorite event so far has been the safflower dyeing experience we organized in Tendo. I am so thankful to live in Yamagata because of the constant connection to nature! Coming from beautiful Boulder, Colorado USA, I love spending time outside and challenging myself on new hikes. Thanks to Yamagata-ken's famous hot springs, I also get to enjoy onsen whenever I need. Welcome!

Hello, I'm Alice! I am a JET from the UK now living in Yamagata City. I am very active in many different communities; I am a CIR for Yamagata City, Secretary here on AJET and your Prefectural Advisor (PA) for the 2020-21 year. I joined AJET because I enjoy being involved in community building endeavors. My goal while living in Yamagata is to climb every one of our 100 Famous Mountains. Hello, I'm Lauren. I'm a British JET currently in my 2nd year as an ALT and my 1st year as a member of AJET. I joined AJET because I want to build a greater community between JETs in the different regions of Yamagata, as well as connecting us to the wider community of the prefecture. I hope we can organise more events and keep people informed about the many opportunities and experiences available here. Yamagata is a beautiful place. Hi, I'm Bridgitte from Australia! I'm a 2nd year ALT and the treasurer of AJET. I joined AJET because I want to make the community a fun, inclusive, eventful place! My favourite part about Yamagata is how you can experience nature, but also have the luxury of having an urban life in the radius of ~2 hours!
