This section will mostly be abbreviating Modern + whatever sonic character as EG: "M.Sonic" or "Mdrn.Sonic" (Not to be confused with (Metal Sonic) Unless theres a Mdrn.MetalSonic)
Prior to the eventual reveal in December 31st 2025 (in the final day of 2025) to January 1st 2026.
The idea came from a voice chat on discord. Roughly mentioning something like. Refining those old "Sonic Infinite battle" Characters. Albeit not part of another full game. (Roughly dates back to late 2024 to early 2025)
Speaking of "Sonic Infinite Battle" The reason why Infinite Battle is cancelled. The author was not content of how all the characters in Sonic Infinite Battle came out.
Even if their AI can beat. Certain other AIs. (to this day the author is rough on making AI.)
The Template (Which will not be released until- Who knows?) Is modified after the "Sonic IKEMEN Battle" Template but with various (heavy) adjustments and other things.
Aside from various adjustments to be more akin to Sonic Battle.
The unreleased "Modern Sonic Template" has the following

It does have a name "Base The Character" Despite the display name says "Template"
A few vocal Samples taken from a flash animation called "Xiao Xiao 1" and a few generic grunts that can be found in "https://soundeffects.fandom.com/"
The gameplay style takes inspiration (Inspo) from: Infinite's SVK Characters, Valgallah's MVC sonic characters (Though mostly MVC in general), Some hint of Sonic Battle, Veanko's Sonic characters And ABAB's only four Sonic characters, and DS12's Super Better Mario Bros (or at least his gameplay style)
Conceptually the gameplay style was intended for "Sonic Infinite Battle" back in 2018-2019. (You know. the Heavy attack in Sonic Battle sends the opponent to the wall if close enough. .etc)
The Hit sounds are taken from: Street Fighter 4.
(Infinite's SVK characters and TxPot's Naruto and Sasuke also use those), and Smash Bros Brawl/Nintendo All stars Super Smash Bros X
The Modern part of both Internal and Display (in some characters) is meant to distinguish other versions that just use their Full and/or usual name.
The 3D renders are done via Blender and uses Sonic Heroes Models albeit Modified for a better feel of the characters.
Some characters use The: "Secret Rings" / "Olympics" / "Black Knight" Models. Which is also modified for a better feel of the characters.
In XPGlitz's Book Dreamcast IS Modern. (Its more evident in the official Concept art of Sonic Adventure.)
Color separating was concepted some time in early 2025 to mid 2025. (The sprite sheet as of writing this in 1/1/2026 is released Here. )
Similar to most sonics. Some moves are from: ABAB Sonic, Claymizer's 1st and 2nd sonic .etc
Some color palettes are not just based on SSB4 and SSBU (Where the colors are less saturated)
It's more leaning towards "Akaneia Build" (A Smash Bros Melee Romhack / Mod)
His color palettes are basically taken from "Akaneia Build" (A Smash Bros Melee Romhack / Mod) With some alteraitons
Unlike his Classic Counterpart. He doesnt have various Explosives (Bombs) As his moveset takes (or mostly is based on) some cues from Sonic Battle.
The Green Palette is more than a coincidence, Even it if it is partly based on the "Green Amy" Meme.
Some of his Color palettes are taken from a Smash Bros Brawl rom hack/Mod "Project Plus" albeit. More saturated. With some alterations
