Overview

The Xover44 is a Full Featured Phase Coherent Modular State Variable Audio Crossover

The design stage started in January 2018, and it aims to provide a high quality analog fully-featured variable active crossover, digitally controlled from a solid and clear graphic interface. In fact it's possible to switch quickly crossover configuration, without any switching noise, giving the possibility to better compare configuration differences.

The Xover44 can be configured as a stereo 2/3/4/n ways variable active crossover.

It shows a multitude of appealing features, that are suitable for a wide range of applications: Speaker Builders, Hi-End audio systems, live sound systems.

For every crossover point, for each channel, you can set:

  • the order of the filter module (12db/oct. or 24 db/oct.)
  • the frequency of the crossover point (with a maximum of 32 selectable steps x module)
  • the amplitude in db of the crossover point (-6db for Linkwitz Riley, -5db, -4db, -3db for Butterworth)

For every stereo output you can set:

  • a 4-bit or 8-bit discrete precision volume, with steps of 0.1db or 0.5db

A comfortable and complete interface written in C++ with a 7'' metal frame color display, panel controls (a high precision encoder and vandal proof buttons), Infra-Red remote control, is what the Arduino DUE version offers.

While the ESP32 version feature a Bluetooth or Wi-Fi access point, so you can connect it to any android device with his own App. Cool function for live concerts, isn't it? The idea is to stick on it a 7'' HD tablet that magnetically docks on the front panel.

WARNING:

In some countries it may be required that mains wiring be performed by a qualified electrician - Do not attempt the power supply unless suitably qualified. Faulty or unsuitable mains wiring may result in death or serious injury. All mains wiring must use mains rated cable, segregated from input and low voltage wiring as required by local regulations.
