I am working on a number of topics, including the following:
inflection classes: my D. Phil. was about their creation in the languages of the world
suppletion, which was the topic of my postdoctoral fellowship
My work is often typological in nature, but I also concentrate on specific language areas:
the Romance languages, in particular Occitan and the Oïl varieties, including the historical morphology of French
Austronesian languages, particularly belonging to the South-Halmahera-West-New Guinea family
recently I am getting more interested by the Celtic languages, in particular Breton and Cornish
I am a member of the following research programmes:
ViGramm (SOSI InSHS CNRS, 2023-) "Visualizing grammars across space and time" (PI: Diego Pescarini, Nice; Anne Dagnac, Toulouse; Stella Retali-Medori, Corte). The initial meeting of the project was a Workshop on Reinventing linguistic atlases. Old data, current methods, future questions in Nice, 16 November 2023.
Chartes d'Occitanie, a project aiming at producing a database of medieval charters from the southern French area, in particular in the Occitan language, but also in Latin and French. (PI: Roland Viader, Toulouse)
DIVITAL (ANR 2022-25) "Increase the DIgital VITALity and visibility of languages of France: linguistic descriptions and annotated corpora" (PI: Delphine Bernhard, Strasbourg; Myriam Bras, Toulouse; Stella Retali-Medori, Corte; Marianne Vergez-Couret, Poitiers)
