I worked in an off-licence chain in West London (Oddbins) and as an intern with numerous small production houses around Golden Square off Wardour Street. Many of these businesses have since gone bust. I rejoined the Maritime Reserve, learnt Arabic and went out with the effort to liberate Iraq, which saw me unexpectedly stuck in a job for a number of years. I carried on deploying with the force protection teams in the Gulf and Horn of Africa, on anti-piracy and force protection duties and as a junior weapons instructor and training supervisor. Previously, I rebuilt a classic schooner which my wife lived in whilst I was away and which we moored near Canary Wharf, and afterwards my first automobile, a 1972 Rolls Royce which we kept in a derelict shipyard on the South Coast. During this time I undertook numerous photographic and film lighting projects and now have a stash of HMI lighting for own usage and rental, along with grip equipment supplied to small indi films shoots for minimal outlay.
Starting a Company
I decided I should start a new business myself. However, it would take many more years before I could finally get onto a business footing with the enterprise.
After a couple of years trading we signed the papers on our first headquarters, at Arcade Road Littlehampton, which is in the banner of this website. Currently I am employed teaching school leavers and apprentices the crazy world of electrical contracting.
