iEARN Don't Waste - Create
Activity will encourage students to reuse resources creatively and innovatively without wasting them. They could use a number of resources like plastic bottles to grow plants, newspapers, make water pots, decorate cans, cooking with left overs etc etc. The project has helped create awareness among students about use of resources, avoiding waste, avoid litter and the importance of recycling. Students could come up with amazing stuff using water bottles, newspapers, shoe boxes etc.
Two of our schools SOS Children's Village Peshawar and Ran'aa Child Welfare Foundation have participated in the project. Children at SOS made book cases, pen holders from old newspapers, shoes boxes, old water bottles etc. Where as kids at Ran'aa made paper bags from old newspapers, discussed the harmful effects of plastic bags on the environment etc

One World Classrooms - Global Art Exchange Project
One world classrooms aims to build bridges of learning and understanding between local and global classrooms through arts and technology. Under the program, students from all over the world participate in physical and digital art exchange. Followed by voice thread conversations.
Two of our schools SOS Children Village Peshawar and Ran'aa Child Welfare Foundation participated in a physical art exchange with schools in USA and Canada. It was a great opportunity to dive into a different and unique culture and appreciate the differences and similarities with other nations. Kids could identify different sports played in Canada and USA, their food and drinks, animals, celebrating thanks giving day etc this was followed by an interesting exercise where kids located one of the schools in Canada, Kelowna, Glenmore Elementary using #Google maps from where the art work has been sent. They could explore the surroundings areas by toggling between satellite and street view. Overall a very interesting learning experience for the kids. Such projects help build tolerance and respect for other cultures.

iEARN - Talking Kites
A very interesting project which encourages students to share messages of a better world, share their dreams of a better world on kites encouraging coexistence, peace and tolerance. With kids at SOS we started off with discussion on hopes for future. They jotted their hopes & dreams using a mind mapping software Popplet. These were written on kites, some of them made kites themselves too, these were flown later. A few students recorded their hopes using Flip Grid. This was later shared on the iEARN project space. With the whole activity kids were able to develop a vision for peaceful and just societies, where every individual opinion is valued and differences accepted.

iEARN - My Name Around the world
Another very interesting project of the iEARN which provided kids the opportunity to search information about their names, origin, history, meaning etc followed by making graphics visualizations of their names. They could link names to historic personalities, most of them had Islamic names mentioned in Quran, could talk about who has given them their names etc. They used Popplet to organize the information.

iEARN - Global Food and Tell
Another very interesting project of the iEARN which provided kids the opportunity talk and discuss about healthy food, manners, compare and share food eaten in their country. Kids made chicken and egg sandwiches. Younger kids recently explored noodles around the world, they could identify different names of noodles and recipes made using noodles in different countries. The project is important , food is one of the main entry points since it gave kids a tour of the countries around the world and a look into different cultures.
