Brian sits with Belina and asks all about the team, how they are working, and what controls are in place. From there the conversation comes around to planning. Brian seems very concerned at this point. "How is a two-week plan supposed to give confidence in where you are going?" asks Brian. Belina explains to Brian that it is not the plan that gives confidence but the work delivered, demoed, and accepted at the end of each sprint that gives confidence. "And what about longer-term?" Brain asks. Belina explains that Julia has a roadmap that she shares with the team that gives us the direction that we need. Belina could see Brian was frustrated and was maybe not grasping the concepts ad who could blame him, he'd worked in a certain way for a long time and that way had got him to where he is in his career. Finally, Brain cut to the chase, "Belina, for us in audit to have confidence in what you are doing, we want to know when work will land and if it is at risk, and in our eyes we want you to have consistent story pointing so if another team spins up we want to know it is the same for them. Can you get it so we know that if 1 story point is one day, we know 5 story points is 5 days work?" Belina was a bit taken back and was not sure what to do as she had never been in this scenario before.
