This Refund and Make-up Policy outlines the terms under which THE BLACK ABO SERVICES FZ-LLC ("THE BLACK ABO", "we", "us", or "our") processes refund requests and provides make-up sessions for missed classes. This policy applies to all members, students, and users of the THE BLACK ABO mobile application and associated services (the "Platform").
By purchasing a membership, class package, or any service through the Platform, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to the terms of this policy.
Monthly memberships may be cancelled at any time through the app under Settings > Membership > Cancel Membership
Cancellations take effect at the end of the current billing cycle — no partial month refunds are issued
If a charge occurs due to a technical error on our part, a full refund will be issued within 7 business days
Annual memberships cancelled within 14 days of purchase are eligible for a full refund, provided no classes or services have been accessed
After 14 days, annual memberships are non-refundable but may be transferred to another eligible member upon written request
In the event of a serious medical condition preventing participation for 30+ consecutive days, a pro-rated refund or membership freeze may be granted upon submission of a medical certificate
Members may request to freeze their membership for a minimum of 1 month and a maximum of 3 months per calendar year due to:
Medical reasons (medical certificate required)
Travel or relocation (documentation may be required)
Other exceptional circumstances at management's discretion
Freeze requests must be submitted at least 5 business days before the next billing date via the app or by emailing hello@theblackabo.com.
Class packages are valid for the period stated at the time of purchase
Unused classes from a package are non-refundable after 7 days from the date of purchase
Within the first 7 days of purchase, if no classes have been attended, a full refund may be requested
Expired class packages are non-refundable and non-transferable
Partially used class packages are non-refundable
Exceptions may apply in cases of serious injury or illness, subject to management review and medical documentation
Refunds for live online classes must be requested at least 24 hours before the scheduled class start time
Cancellations made less than 24 hours before the class are non-refundable but may be eligible for a make-up session (see Section 6)
In the event that THE BLACK ABO cancels or reschedules a live online class, a full refund or make-up credit will be offered automatically
Access to on-demand training videos and digital content is non-refundable once the content has been accessed or downloaded
If you experience a technical issue preventing access to purchased content, please contact us within 48 hours at hello@theblackabo.com
Purchases made through the Apple App Store are subject to Apple's refund policy. To request a refund:
Go to reportaproblem.apple.com
Sign in with your Apple ID
Find the purchase and select "Request a Refund"
THE BLACK ABO does not have the ability to process refunds for purchases made through Apple directly.
Refund requests must be submitted within 7 days of the transaction by contacting hello@theblackabo.com with your order details.
A make-up class may be offered when:
A member provides at least 12 hours advance notice of their absence
A class is cancelled or rescheduled by THE BLACK ABO or the affiliated academy
A member misses a class due to a documented emergency or medical situation
Each member is entitled to a maximum of 2 make-up classes per month
Make-up classes must be scheduled and completed within 30 days of the missed session
Make-up classes are subject to availability and must be booked through the app
Make-up classes cannot be carried over to the following month or converted to credit
No-shows to make-up classes forfeit the make-up entitlement with no further compensation
Open the app and go to My Classes > Missed Classes
Select the missed session and tap Request Make-Up
Choose an available replacement class from the calendar
Confirm your booking — you will receive a confirmation notification
Alternatively, contact your academy administrator or email hello@theblackabo.com within 48 hours of the missed class.
THE BLACK ABO partners with independent academies and schools. Some academies may have their own refund and make-up policies that apply in addition to this policy. In the event of a conflict, the more favorable policy for the member will apply. Please check with your specific academy for any additional terms.

Apple Pay: 3 – 5 business days
Bank Transfer : 7 – 14 business days
Refunds are returned to the original payment method used at the time of purchase. We are unable to redirect refunds to a different account or payment method.
The following are non-refundable under all circumstances:
Consumed or accessed digital content (videos, training plans)
Completed classes or sessions already attended
Expired class packages or memberships
Promotional, discounted, or free trial offers
Belt grading examination fees once the examination has been scheduled
Competition entry fees for junior/youth participants who did not attend the event, where cancellation was made after the official event registration deadline
We understand that life can be unpredictable. In cases of serious illness, bereavement, or other significant life events, we encourage you to reach out to us directly at hello@theblackabo.com. We will review each case individually and do our best to find a fair and compassionate solution.
If you are not satisfied with the outcome of a refund request, you may escalate your complaint by:
Emailing hello@theblackabo.com with the subject line: "Refund Dispute – [Your Name]"
We will acknowledge your dispute within 2 business days and provide a final resolution within 10 business days
For purchases made through the Apple App Store, disputes must be handled directly through Apple's support channels.
