Have you been given a project or paper that requires research, and you don't know where to begin? Have you conducted research in the past but would like some tips and reminders to ensure that you're on the right track? For basic information on how to conduct research, click HERE.
Once your purpose for research is clear, you are ready to gather sources. The library has numerous book sources, but you may also want to consider online sources and databases.
When searching for sources online, you may find that your results are too many or few in number, or perhaps your results are not exactly what you are looking for? How do you refine your search terms to return the most relevant results? Click on the video on the right for some tips. Also, consider Purdue's Online Writing Lab's tips for searching HERE.
If you would like guided help for research, use the document on the left to help you. The links in the document should work automatically if you are in school. To access the KYVL links, be sure to use the KYVL portal. A high school version of this document is coming soon!
If your task is to write a research paper, review the steps for developing a research paper HERE.
