AWM at UCR Symposium
The MATH 194 course at UCR is an independent reading course. Students come together and decide on an area of mathematics to study under the supervision of faculty members. Enrolling in MATH194 provides an excellent opportunity to gain exposure to Math Research and stands out in applications for graduate school. In MATH194 you will be assigned with a graduate student from UCR's Math Graduate Program and thoroughly analyze a research paper assigned by a faculty member who specializes in a said research topic. Towards the end of the quarter, you will have the opportunity to present your topic. This course is offered for 1 or 2 units, regular grading scale, and typically meets once to twice a week.
