We are planning a phased transition to Canvas divided into two groups: Group 1 and Group 2.
We are planning a phased transition to Canvas divided into two groups: Group 1 and Group 2.
Group 1 will kick-start the migration and training over the Fall 2023 semester with a target launch of January 2024. This smaller group consists of programs with fewer students that straddle the two LMSs. We've strategically chosen these programs to ensure a smooth transition to Canvas. The programs in Group 1 include:
Applied Technology: Climate & Energy Control Technologies, Alternative Fuel Maintenance and Advanced Electronics, Construction Science, Culinary/Hospitality, Information Technology Systems and Cloud Computing, Automotive Technology, Safety (embedded course).
Professional Studies: Criminal Justice, Digital Marketing, Interior Design, Logistics/Supply Chain Management.
Aviation Maintenance Technology: General/Airframe/Power Plant.

* High school dual credit courses under the following programs are also part of Group 1: Automotive Technology, Climate & Energy Control Technologies, and Aviation Maintenance Technology

Group 2 represents the remainder of the programs which will migrate and train over the Spring and Summer of 2024, with rolling target launches in early Summer and Fall 2024 - depending on the course schedule. Given its larger size, this group will have a longer timeline for training and course migrations. The programs in Group 2 include:
General Education: Math, History, Humanities, Science, Speech, English, Allied Health, Wellness, Social Sciences, Leadership and Personal Development.
Healthcare: Certified Medication Aide, Certified Nurse Aide, Home Health Aide, Healthcare Administration & Management, Emergency Medical Services, Patient Care Technician, Surgical Technology, Veterinary Nursing (Vet Tech).
Nursing: Practical Nurse & Registered Nurse.
Design: Architectural Design Technology & Engineering Design Technology, CATIA.
Manufacturing: Industrial Automation & Machine Maintenance, Machining Technology, Manufacturing Technology, Robotics, Welding.
Aviation: Aerospace Coatings and Paint Technology, Aerospace Manufacturing Technology, Avionics Technology, Composite Technology, Nondestructive Testing (NDT), Professional Pilot, Unmanned Aircraft Systems (Drone).
Professional Studies: Business
* We anticipate that Concurrent High School courses will fully transition to Canvas by Fall 2024.
* Organizations will migrate on a case-by-case basis.
* High school dual credit courses under the following programs are also part of Group 2: Certified Nurse Aide, Patient Care Technician, and Welding
