The conference is part of the British Council-funded Going Global Partnerships project, a collaboration between Anglia Ruskin University, Universitas Indonesia, and the Women in Engineering IEEE Indonesia Section.
The event is designed to inspire and motivate high school, college, and university students to pursue rewarding careers in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics). By hearing from accomplished women leaders across STEM fields, attendees will gain valuable insights into overcoming challenges, thriving in the industry, and building successful careers.

Meet the Speakers
Jennifer is a Professor of Digital Innovation and Smart Places. She has had a varied career working in industry and academia. Her current research explores the sociotechnical aspects of digitalisation at the city scale, focussing on governance and ethical innovation to enable the delivery of digital solutions for public value creation. Jennifer was previously the Director of the Cambridge Centre for Smart Infrastructure and Construction at the University of Cambridge. Prior to joining the Centre, Jennifer worked for Arup, the global engineering consultancy, for six years. There she led the firm’s Research business, delivering research strategy development to aid clients in targeting their investments to improve their productivity and competitiveness. Before joining Arup, Jennifer spent seven years working for Edwards Vacuum (then BOC Edwards) as a manager for New Product Introductions, leading a cross-disciplinary team to design and bring into production high-speed turbo-molecular pumps for the semiconductor and scientific industries across the world.
In 2019, Jennifer was awarded the OBE and the ICE President’s Medal for services to engineering and digital construction.
Jennifer has a PhD in Materials Science from the University of Cambridge.
Renata is the Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) at Civica, London. With over two decades of experience in IT and cybersecurity, she has worked across various sectors, including SMBs, multinationals, and non-profits. Renata’s expertise spans information security and network administration, and she has also served as Microsoft’s Security Operations Centre Manager. She holds an academic background in Information Security and Forensics from the Open University, alongside multiple industry certifications. Among her notable achievements, Renata was a finalist for IT Professional of the Year in 2008 and is recognised for her initiatives in empowering young women in Zambia through technology.
Prima is an Associate Professor in Computer Engineering at the Department of Electrical Engineering, Universitas Indonesia. She is actively involved in the IEEE Indonesia Section’s Women in Engineering initiative. She holds a bachelor's degree from Universitas Indonesia, a master's degree from Universität Duisburg-Essen, Germany, and a PhD from Universitas Indonesia.
All delegates must be at least 18 years old to attend the conference on their own. Parent/Guardian Consent Form must be completed for under 18 years old and submitted to Women in STEM Conference Organiser
Under 18 must bring a copy of the completed Parent/Guardian Consent Form to the conference and carry it at all times. In addition, they may be asked to provide official photo identification (e.g. passport, student ID) confirming their age.
