I Dozed Off While Praying...I’m So Tired These Days

I dozed off as a result of being so tired these days.

The world as we know it has me in utter dismay.

I fell asleep in the middle of a prayer for Love and Peace;

What I read in the Word, and sermons my daddy preached.

I woke up rather suddenly shaken and upset;

Too many are acting and speaking of things they will regret.

My heart is beyond broken and my eyes are filled with tears;

For the families who are mourning brothers, police officers—paralyzed by fear.

Folks put down your weapons as this battle is not for you.

Violence is NOT the answer; do what God said to do.

When will God’s people listen? Stop this destruction with your hands.

Love the Lord our God with All your heart, and do as God commands.

The earth is the Lord’s and Fullness thereof!

We can cure this thing called hatred and fear if we replace them with Love!

We were created as caretakers of each other and this land.

There is no reason to destroy what God made with divine hands.

We ALL are God’s creation made to love and keep the peace.

Let this malicious behavior and hateful dialogue cease.

I am done dozing off while pleading for the lives of men;

Who deliberately turn from God and trade blessings for sin.

Wake up, and open a Holy Book. Get down on your knees and pray.

Trust the knowledge, wisdom, and power of God to bring about a new day.

God thank You for Jesus! Protect my brothers and sisters of ALL kinds.

Restore our understanding, our compassion, and our minds.

You have never forsaken us! We need to trust in You;

And allow your Word to teach us what we are required to do.

We’ve been disobedient, turned our backs, and cursed your Holy Name.

We must humble ourselves, call on You. Lord have mercy on our shame.

We have allowed Satan a seat at the table to upset our happy homes.

Knowing only the Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost may occupy the Throne!

Please help us, King Jesus! Be in our hearts today.

Return us to the Truth, Your Light, and God’s Loving Way.
