Time Limits & Memorization
Memorization is not required for any performance. To ensure continuity in our schedule, there will be a five to six-minute time limit for all solos and small ensembles. However, we do encourage you to program ample music so that our adjudicators can adequately evaluate your performance and provide comments. Solo & Ensembles will be block scheduled by a school to provide the maximum flexibility to directors.
Judges
The goal of this festival is to encourage students and to provide a performance opportunity for your program. As such we will select judges who have taught in small or rural school programs, and can provide relevant feedback to encourage your students. This will not be a “cut-throat” festival. We are more focused on providing you and your students a quality performance opportunity with encouraging comments to aid in strengthening your program.
