High School Concert and Marching Bands are organized by grade level while Jazz Band is an audition only ensemble. Every high school band class meets daily for 50 minutes and is held in the band room that is located in the East Wing building.
Grades 10-12
1st Period (Fall)
Students who have completed 4 full years of band instruction and are currently in their 5th, 6th, or 7th year of playing an instrument. Students in the Marching Band should be able to demonstrate mastery of their instrument at the Grade 3-4 Level.
Grades 10-12
1st Period (Spring)
Students who have completed 4 full years of band instruction and are currently in their 5th, 6th, or 7th year of playing an instrument. Students in the Marching Band should be able to demonstrate mastery of their instrument at the Grade 3-4 Level
Grades 9-12 by audition
3rd Period (Fall & Spring)
Students in grades 9-12 are eligible to join the jazz band. Membership in the jazz band is very competitive and is by audition only. One on one auditions are usually scheduled in the Spring semester for the following school year. For more information contact Mr. Long.
Grade 9
4th Period (Fall & Spring)
Students who have completed 3 full years of band instruction and are currently in their 4th year of playing an instrument. Students in the Junior Varsity Band should be able to demonstrate mastery of their instrument at the Grade 2 1/2 - 3 Level
Volunteers from Grades 9-12
RTI (January & February)
Students in grades 9-12 are eligible to join the basketball pep band. Membership in the pep band is voluntary. Pep band will Rehearsals are held during RTI and also prior to each performance. Pep band performs at home varsity and junior varsity boys and girls basketball games in January and February.
Grades 10-12
1st Period & RTI (Spring)
Percussionist in grades 10-12 are eligible to join the percussion orchestra. Percussion Orchestra is a large percussion ensemble of nine or more musicians that perform for the MSHSAA District Festival in March and also for our Spring Concert.
