The PFT Health & Welfare Fund provides professional development for teachers serving our city's schools. We host professional development for World Language teachers in the School District of Philadelphia and beyond.

Our goal is to offer PD focused on Virtual Learning that can be easily transferred into hybrid and/or in-person models. We seek to build a community of WL educators who share, support and engage in research based pedagogical methods and activities.

We seek to have a consistent flow of information and communication throughout the school year, with the goal of supporting our WL educators throughout the School District of Philadelphia and beyond.

Through the WL Committee, we will gather important feedback on our ongoing PD opportunities and partnerships with other WL organizations.

Session topics included but are not limited to;

• Pedagogy

• Incorporating the ACTFL Standards of Communication, Culture, Connections, Comparisons, and Communities

• Comprehensible Input/Output

• Increasing student engagement in the TL

• Formative and Summative Assessments

• And more!
