What's accessibility?

Imagine watching your favorite movie,

suddenly the pictures get blurrier and blurrier until complete darkness comes.

Sounds are amplified,

hearing and imagination will be your only companions in this adventure.

Slowly sight returns,

but this time it will be hearing, your faithful guide until now,

to fade until silence takes over.

Now, only images will give you the idea of what is going on in the film.

In both of these extreme situations, what the viewer will wonder is:

"What’s going on? I’m missing important information, I’m confused".

It will be up to the audio describer in the first case

and to the subtitler in the second

to integrate these shortcomings

through what we like to call "sixth sense", the sensibility of inclusion.

AUDIO DESCRIPTION

Audio description is the narration of the key visual elements in a video to provide access to people who are blind or have low vision.

SDH SUBTITLES

Subtitles for Deaf and Hard of Hearing include important non-dialogue audio sound effects and speaker identification.
