Special Birthdays

Every Birthday is a Celebration of  Life.

No matter how many journeys we've had around the Sun, a birthday is a time to celebrate and show gratitude for life. But some birthdays are more spectacular and significant in society.

40, 50, 60, 70, 80 (or in the case of my dear late Grandad 96!)  - you choose which to celebrate.

Having a birthday party is easy but we've all been to parties where we didn't have much time to talk to the birthday girl/boy as they had so many people to give their attention to. So it was lots of small talk and pleasantries, a buffet and a cake-cutting photo opportunity.  Or maybe we were running around, co-ordinating everything, topping up drinks, collecting coats...

Now imagine this - it's your Mum's 80th birthday. She has achieved so much in that time: a marriage, family, talents, career, hobbies, all personal achievements and stories worthy of sharing.  You have the venue of your choice and those that matter most in attendance. She is the star of the show and before the partying begins she has a "This is Your Life" ceremony (Google it if you are young enough not to know what this was!). A biographical ceremony showcasing her life so far, giving everyone a privileged look into her life.  Your celebrant (aka me) delivers this. It is written from tales shared, completely bespoke and truly personal. We end the ceremony with a toast and the cutting of the cake and then the party begins.

Shine a light on the life of someone you love dearly.
