Our Vision

Woolavington West provides a unique opportunity to deliver a high quality and sustainable mixed development of new homes, community facilities and services, with an expansive network of open spaces and green corridors in Somerset.

The vision comprises a mixed-use development of approximately 1,400 new homes, a primary school, a mixed use local centre, informal and formal open space, football pitch, equipped areas of play and active travel routes.

Woolavington West’s new homes and facilities will be sensitively designed, responding to the character of their surroundings, and serve to complement the job creation and community uses delivered by Gravity, which will deliver upwards of 7,500 jobs. Sustainable transport and movement will be emphasised with a network of attractive routes and connections to link Woolavington West to neighbouring areas encouraging walking, cycling and public transport to Gravity.

Should Woolavington West be allocated for development in the forthcoming Somerset Council Local Plan, Woolavington West would deliver a mixture of much needed homes aligned to the Council’s housing requirements and wider social, economic and environmental ambitions.
