Cemetry Consecration

The council realised sometime ago that not all the land in Greenfields Cemetry was available for burial as it had not all been consecrated. The area in question was to the right of the path as you walk in. So we arranged with the the Diocesan Registry in Wells to remedy this.

On the 19th January a Service of Consecration was held at the cemetry. The peripatetic bishop, Bishop Rob, performed the service.  Keeping an eye on the legal aspects was Janet, a suitably bewigged and begowned lady from the Diocesan Registry. Also  present were some members of the public, the Clerk and most of the councillors. After the service an official document was witnessed in the church by most people at the service.
