The Light Bulb Initiative, LBI, LB
Light bulb works to empower students in succeeding in STEM subjects and finding meaningful career pathways in STEM. Founded since September 2020, we have been bringing mentorship to students. This year, we will be inviting guests from STEM industries for prospective students eager to find a “light” in STEM.

Light Bulb meets weekly or biweekly after school at various times depending on your schedule, all year round. Meetings are usually one hour long. We could also make accommodations to any requests or requirements of our members. All grades are welcome!
Mentor meetings are scheduled on a one-by-one basis. Events will be announced publicly.

Light Bulb welcomes students Grade 9 to 10 and mentors Grade 11 and 12 (with exceptions when asked via email). All students looking into a STEM subject will find value in Light Bulb. Time commitment can be made as flexible as the student or mentor requires. For more specific arrangements, please contact us via email. There are no membership fees. Light Bulb is volunteer-run.
There will be year-round events that will be announced publicly via social media and PA announcements.
We are a unique initiative founded for students aspiring to be in STEM careers.
