What are the requirements to join the WVCT?
Be a resident of Woodridge or the surrounding areas adjacent to the Village of Woodridge boundaries.
Be a minimum of 14 years of age.
Note: Members younger than 18 years of age must receive permission from a parent or legal guardian to participate.
Successfully complete the specified training program.
Participate in CPR and Basic First Aid training.
Build and demonstrate a personal 72-hour kit.
Comply with the rules and policies set forth by the Village of Woodridge.
Complete IS 100, IS 200 and IS 700.
Submit and pass a basic background check.
Complete and sign the Volunteer Contract with the Village of Woodridge Police Department.
Participate in the final class drill and written exam.
Active WVCT Volunteer Responsibilities
Maintain yourself and your own household in a state of readiness so that you can effectively respond to events in the Village and serve as an example to others.
Attend no less than 8 hours of approved training each year.
Attendance at six (6) team meetings a year
Respond to at least 25% of service requests each year.
Provide personal profile data and keep it current.
Maintain personal and organizational equipment in good condition.
Participate in at least one drill every two years.
Submit an updated background check form 60 days prior to the expiration date of your Village issued ID card.
