First Activity of the Summer 2026
A Tour of Rippon Lodge
The Woodbridge Woman's Club group had a wonderful field trip to Historic Rippon Lodge, right here in our backyard in Woodbridge, dating back to circa 1747. The club members enjoyed the information provided by the tour guides and it was a fun way to experience what life was like back in that era! The property is open for tours Friday- Monday 11am-4pm. Admission is only $5. A wonderful way to celebrate America's 250th birthday this year! There are more pictures under the Summer Activities section above. For more information, you can go to https://www.pwcva.gov/department/historic-preservation/rippon-lodge
BUNCO Fundraiser
Our last general meeting for the season was held on May 18, 2026. It was also our BUNCO Fundraiser. We played several games of Bunco rotating tables after each game. That way we got to meeting and greet with other members. There were prizes for Most Buncos, Most Wins, Most Losses, Middle of the Road and Last Bunco of the day! It was a lot of fun and we made some money for our club. Thanks to all who participated!!!
Woodbridge Woman's Club and Lake Ridge Garden Club
Hope Garden Ribbon Cutting Ceremony
The Hope Garden Ribbon Cutting was a beautiful success!
Thank you to everyone who joined us to celebrate the opening of the Hope Garden, inspired by the message: “Where Flowers Bloom, Hope Grows.”
This meaningful project, created by the Garden Club of Lake Ridge and the GFWC Woodbridge Women’s Club, was designed to support mental wellness and provide a peaceful place for reflection, healing, and hope within our community.
We are grateful for the support of Chinn Aquatics & Fitness Center and Prince William Parks & Recreation for helping bring this vision to life.
A special thank you to our wonderful speakers:
Pat Victorson, Board President of NAMI Prince William County
Kat Fish, General Manager of Chinn Aquatics & Fitness Center
Guests also enjoyed painting rocks with uplifting and inspirational messages that were placed throughout the garden A heartfelt activity that added even more color, encouragement, and community spirit to this special space.
The day was filled with community spirit, encouragement, and appreciation for the importance of mental wellness. We are proud to share these special moments from the ribbon cutting celebration and thankful to everyone who helped make the Hope Garden possible.

The speaker for our March 23rd, 2026 meeting was Sandy Steeves, Supervisor of Volunteer Services, Sentara Northern Virginia Medical Center. They are also continuing to collect books for the book cart. Our members brought books to the meeting which were collected and donated to the book cart.
On March 23rd general meeting, induction of our new member Patty Plumber was completed. She was presented with her rose, candle and WWC Membership Pin. Welcome Patty!
January/February 2026!
Due to the major snow storm that provided the area with "snow-crete", the club has not been able to meet in person. But, that didn't stop us since we have the power of Zoom Meetings to keep us in contact and able to conduct the business of planning activities and events for our club. We held our January 2026 and February 2026 general meetings via Zoom.
Our February speaker, Gabrielle Tibbs, Director of Streetlight Community Outreach Ministries graciously joined us at our Zoom meeting. She provided us with an informative description about the Streetlight Ministries, who they serve and how the community can help. Our club has been involved in their Hypothermia Shelter program for the homeless this winter. From the generous donations of our WWC members, we were able to provide hypothermia packets that contain thermal socks, snack foods, water, hand warmers and other personal items. We also donated some crochet hats made by one of our members. We will continue to support the ministry as needed in the coming year.
The pillow makers are back to business after the holiday season. They continue to provide heart pillows and port pillows for cancer and cardiac patients at Sentara. Pillow making sessions are at the Sentara Cancer Resource Center twice monthly at 10AM (Room 225, Century Building). They were a little behind due to the nasty snow storm in January and lingering ice and snow. But now that the weather is improving, they will be back to meeting twice a month to provide more pillows and ports. This has been an on-going community project and has provided the cancer and cardiac patients with hundreds of pillows in the past years. They average about 10 finished pillows and 10 finished ports which are delivered to various cancer and cardiac offices after each meeting. Members are welcome to join in and no sewing skills are necessary. They have jobs for sewists, stuffers and stichers! There are lively conversations while they put the pillows together. More information can be found in the club monthly newsletter under Health and Wellness.
Holiday Luncheon 2025
A wonderful holiday luncheon was had by all. Brittany's Restaurant provided delicious menu items and we played holiday trivia games with prizes!
GFWC Holiday Open House
Several of our members attended the beautiful Holiday Open House at GFWC headquarters in DC on Dec. 10th. The lady in the blue dress is Suellen Brazil, GFWC International President. They had a great time and enjoyed visiting the beautiful historic house!
Holiday Market
On Saturday November 22, 2025, the Woodbridge Woman's Club participated in the Woodbridge HS PSO Holiday Market. We had a table where we answered questions and provided information about our club to interested visitors. We sold raffle tickets for a gift basket filled with holiday items and several gift cards to local merchants. Proceeds from our raffle will go to our HS Scholarship program.
60 YEAR ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION
At the WWC General Meeting on March, 17, 2025, our club celebrated its 60th year anniversary. The Supervisors in attendance were: Chair Deshundra Jefferson:, Margaret Franklin, Woodbridge District, Supervisor Kenny Boddye, Occoquan District, Supervisor Victor Angry, Neabsco District, and PWC School Board Vice-Chair Tracy Blake.
