There has been much research indicating the impact of electronic media can have detrimental effects on a young child’s healthy growth and development.
While few would argue the benefits of technology as a learning tool, “screen time” has become a daily reality for most kids today, and has been linked to learning difficulties and social and developmental challenges at every age.
Research points to shortened attention spans, distractibility, obesity, behavioral issues, decreased motivation, and an inability to develop age-appropriate social skills as some of the effects excessive exposure can have on children.
For the sake of the healthy development of our young children, we require families who join our program to be committed to limiting screen time, media, and technological exposure for their child/children at home.
“It is aliveness that must be the guiding principle.
Joy and happiness in living, a love of all existence,
a power and energy for work, and imagination,
a sense of truth and a feeling of responsibility…
These are the forces which are the very nerve of education.”
~ Rudolf Steiner, Study of Man
