Can you imagine a world where kids don't need their eyes to see? Check out this three week pilot program and you might learn that the unimaginable is today's reality. Inspired by Dr. Edith Ubuntu Chan's Luminous Kids program, which we highly recommend, we're offering our own scaled down, in person introductory program.
Who: Lead by Kaleigh and her partner Nick, this program is intended for 5 to 12 year olds. Each participant will have a parent in class as a co-facilitator. We're not very experienced with this wild new skill, but we have successfully shared it with a handful of wonderful Wolseley families.
What: Blindfold vision. A skill that we're all born with. Kids are more adept at picking it up because they haven't been through as much social conditioning.
Where: Weather permitting, classes will be hosted in our own backyard in the heart of the Wolseley nieghbourhood. Participants and parent facilitators should dress accordingly.
When: 12:30 to 1:30 pm Saturday March 7th, March 14th and March 21st.
Why: It's fun. It might open you up to new possibilities. It's fun. It can boost your child's self confidence. Did we mention that it's fun?
Important Note: Skepticism might be a natural reaction to the comments and claims made here. If you're thinking about registering your child, please shield them from skepticism in whichever direction it might come from. Their ability to acquire and stabilize this wild new skill requires positive, playful support.
The nitty gritty details: There will be only five spaces in this pilot program and it might fill up quickly. Those spots will go to the first registrants to submit full payment to kaleighquinn@gmail.com. The program cost of $100 includes a Mindfold face mask ($39+tax) and coloured card stock paper that will be supplied to you at the first class.
