Victor Horta was perhaps the most important influential Belgian architect. His Art Nouveau masterpieces can be found all over the world and at least four have been designated as UNESCO World Heritage Sites.
Sadly, his “Maison du Peuple” – one of his most beautiful buildings – was demolished in 1965. In 2000, pieces of it got a new life as part of the Grand Café Horta in Antwerp – a café-restaurant – event hall in the middle of Antwerp’s shopping district La Maison du Peuple was designed by Horta in the Art Nouveau style and is known for its stunning architectural details and innovative design.
It is a beautiful space characterized by Horta's signature Art Nouveau style, featuring intricate ironwork, stained glass, and organic motifs. It's a popular spot for dining, socializing, and enjoying the ambiance of Horta's architectural vision.
