Workshop on Nonsmooth Optimization and Applications

 (NOPTA 2024)

in Honor of the 75th Birthday of Boris Mordukhovich

April 8-12, 2024- University of Antwerp, Belgium

The Workshop on Nonsmooth Optimization and Applications (NOPTA 2024) will be held at the University of Antwerp (UAntwerp), Belgium, April 08-12, 2024, where it is organized by Applied Mathematics Group of the Department of Mathematics at the UAntwerp. The workshop is accompanied by the intensive SOCN course "Variational Analysis in Optimization and Control" given by Prof. Boris Mordukhovich.

A Workshop in Honor of the 75th Birthday of

 Boris Mordukhovich

Boris Mordukhovich is a distinguished mathematician, renowned for his significant contributions to nonlinear analysis, optimization, and control theory. As a pioneer in modern variational analysis and generalized differentiation, his work has found applications in various disciplines, including mathematics, engineering, and economics. With more than 500 publications and several important books, he is one of the top influential mathematicians who has earned numerous awards, including Fellowships from the American Mathematical Society and the Society for Industrial and Applied Mathematics. A dedicated mentor, researcher, and editor, he has inspired countless young mathematicians and advanced the frontiers of knowledge in the field of variational analysis and nonsmooth optimization.
